Mitigating Mold - Power Washing, Applying Killing Solution and Heat
Mold removal is more than meets the eye. To successfully remove the mold that had formed on this multi-structure apartment house complex, we first treated the mold with a bleach like solution to kill mold spores. We then Power Washed with hot water and a rotating pressure washing tip. Together, heat and the scrubbing power of the rotating blast removed and killed the mold spores.
Most spores are killed when exposed to temperatures in excess of 160 degrees. But some will survive in temperatures up to 230F. Our machines heat water to about 200 degrees at the point of impact. that's why it was important to use a beach based solution prior to blasting clean. The solution will kill 99.9% of the spores, so together with the power washing, the surface is clean of all existing mold issues.
Being a professional Power Washing Company in Kansas City, we are very careful not to damage or destroy structures with our powerful blasting equipment. Our pressure is adjustable and we're ever-conscious of damaging surfaces or weather seals and avoiding water or cleaning solutions penetrating the interior of the structure.
For potentially reoccurring issues, we recommend a maintenance program of twice a year to keep mold under control. This program is less costly than calling us out when the problem has advanced to the point where major cleaning is needed.
